
Lil' Kim Released from Slammer

Gangsta rap superstar Lil' Kim was released on Monday from a Pennsylvania jail after serving 10 months of a 12-month sentence for a perjury conviction.
Lil' Kim, the well-known rapper whose real name is Kimberly Jones, was convicted of perjury in 2005 for her part in a coverup of her two friends' involvement in a shooting. Lil' Kim's hits include Lady Marmalade and Lighters Up.

While she completed her jail time, she will spend a month under house arrest followed by supervised release for three years, according to prison officials.
"I am thrilled to be coming home," the 30-year-old said in a released statement. "I thank my fans for all their letters."
Upon exiting from the facility, the musician was greeted by fans outside of the Philadelphia Federal Detention Center in Pennsylvania.
